Billing Disclosures

Transparency about how care is billed, what you may owe, and your rights as a patient under federal and Maryland law.

How You Will Be Billed

You may receive more than one bill for a single episode of care. Professional services from your physician are billed by the practice. Facility fees for surgery performed at a hospital or ambulatory surgery center, along with anesthesia and pathology services, are billed separately by those providers.

Good Faith Estimates

Under the federal No Surprises Act, patients who are uninsured or who choose not to use insurance have the right to receive a good faith estimate of expected charges for scheduled services. Request an estimate at the time of scheduling and we will provide it in writing.

Surprise Billing Protections

  • You are protected from balance billing for emergency services
  • You are protected for certain services from out-of-network providers at an in-network facility
  • You are only responsible for your in-network cost-sharing amount in those situations
  • You never have to give up these protections

Payment and Financial Assistance

  • Co-payments and outstanding balances are due at the time of service
  • We accept major credit cards, checks and electronic payment
  • Payment plans may be available for larger balances
  • Contact our billing office with any question about a statement before it becomes past due

For billing questions, call our office at (410) 573-2530 and ask for the billing department.
